Living Room Floor Lamp

A floor lamp that stands on its own base and lights the one corner of a living room you would otherwise leave dark. It needs no table, no shelf and no bracket — just a patch of floor.

Put it where you actually use the room. In most living rooms that is the end of the sofa with no window near it, or a corner where the ceiling light is behind you when you read. Filling that one gap is often all a room needs to feel finished.

Where it goes

Look at the space around the corner, not just the gap itself. A floor lamp needs room for its base as well as its shade, so leave a clear route past it and keep it off the busy line people walk across the room.

• Check the base dimensions and the overall height before ordering, and allow for the full width of the shade.
• Stand it on a level surface, away from the route through the room.
• Keep the cable clear of feet, of furniture that gets moved, and of children and pets.

Bulbs and care

Fittings, bulb requirements and whether a bulb is included depend on the individual lamp, and a photograph does not establish compatibility. Ask us and we will confirm the details for the lamp you have chosen.

• Use only a compatible bulb within the lamp’s stated rating, and follow the supplied instructions for assembly and safe placement.
• Let the lamp cool with the power off and the plug out before cleaning it or changing a bulb.
• If a cable, fitting or other electrical part appears damaged, stop using the lamp and seek appropriate advice.
